StartCloudOps is an independent technology platform provider. We are not affiliated with, associated with, or endorsed by Meta Platforms, Inc. or WhatsApp LLC.
1Introduction & Scope
StartCloudOps ("we," "our," or "us") provides a technical interface for managing WhatsApp Business API communications. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and handle your data.
Important Distinction: StartCloudOps acts solely as a data processor on behalf of its customers. Customers remain the data controllers for all end-user personal data processed through the platform.
2Information We Collect
- Account Information: Business name, email, phone number, and billing details provided during registration.
- Platform Usage Data: Logs, login times, API request volumes, and feature usage analytics.
- Customer Data (Processed): Phone numbers and message content you upload or send via our platform. We store this data to provide message history and analytics services.
- Meta API Credentials: Access tokens and IDs required to connect your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) to our platform.
3Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds:
- Performance of a contract with our customers.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Legitimate interests related to operating and securing the platform.
Customer data is processed strictly under the instructions of the account owner.
4Data Sharing with Meta
To provide our services, specific data must be transmitted to Meta/WhatsApp:
- Message Content: All messages sent via StartCloudOps are transmitted through Meta's servers.
- Phone Numbers: Recipient phone numbers are processed by Meta to deliver messages.
- Template Data: Message templates are submitted to Meta for approval.
We do not control how Meta uses or stores this data once it leaves our infrastructure. Please refer to the WhatsApp Business Policy for details.
5Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services.
- You may request complete account deletion by contacting support.
- Upon deletion, all customer contacts and message logs stored on StartCloudOps servers will be permanently removed within 30 days.
- Note: This does not delete data stored on your own Meta WhatsApp Business Account, which must be managed directly through Meta Business Manager.
6Responsibility for Content
You are solely responsible for the content of the messages you send and the contacts you upload. StartCloudOps acts as a passive conduit. We do not inspect message content unless required by law or to investigate technical issues/abuse.
You confirm that you have obtained all required consents and opt-ins from your end users before processing their data or sending messages through the platform.
7Security Measures
We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures including access controls, encryption in transit, and regular security audits to protect your data.
